- Location
- Samle
- Altitude
- 2,833 m
This lake is around 1 km to the southwest of Thini and measures over 400m. It lies immediately to the south of the Samle village and is a perfect place to relax and enjoy the view. The lake appears to be green in color because of the green pine trees that surround the lake. The lake is considered sacred and is thus fenced off to prevent cattle from getting in. There is the Kutsapterenga Monastery nearby and the remains of Garab Dzong (a ruined fort settlement) is also visible on a knoll to the north-east of the lake. It was reported that after the April earthquake of 2015 the water from the Dhumba lake began to leak through the various cracks formed. The locals expressed their concern over this and ACAP even announced that they would allocate some budget for this.
