Chhyongur Gompa
Chhyongur Gompa is an attraction in Chhyongur, at about 3,691 m.

- Location
- Chhyongur
- Altitude
- 3,691 m
This gompa is one of the few that belongs to the Sakyapa sect of Buddhism. And just like the houses of Chhyongur that are colored with the five different natural colors, the entrance to this gompa is also painted with these colors. But there is a slight difference as there are only three colors: Blue, red and white in the gompa entrance. The entrance also has a large prayer wheel and a protector deity. Inside this small gompa, there is a statue of Guru Padmasambhava in the center accompanied by other smaller statues of Buddha in various positions. A couple of faint CFL lights are the only source of light in this rather dark gompa. It goes without saying that there are other gompas in the circuit that are far more extravagant.
