Bhrej Meshrong Barah is the protector deity of Ghandruk and is said to reside in a small pond high up in the ridges above Bhaisi Kharka. However, since the lake is rather far off, a new shrine was built closer to the village. Locals believe that Bhrej Meshrong's guardianship is the reason why none of the villagers from Ghandruk have died during their service in the British and Indian Armies. Fact or fiction, Bhrej Meshrong is nevertheless immensely revered by all villagers. To get to this shrine, take the trail to Kimrong Danda. Once past the last of the houses, you will see well maintained slate stairs that lead up to the temple. As for the pond, it is at least a good four hours from Bhaisi Kharka through ill defined and sometimes non-existent trail. A good local guide will be necessary.
