SETE - Shadowed Below Pikey

  • 2,535 meters

Sete sits on a side of a hill almost looking heavenly with green vegetable fields and beautiful houses. Towards the west, the sky touches Pikey II (4065 meters) and northern skies are connected to a ridge which goes towards Lamjura La.

Sete is a small settlement now. However it isn't hard to guess that this village had seen better days as this used to be the most popular stop for people coming from Bhandar. However, just like every other village in the area, the airport at Lukla and the earthquake of 2015, have taken their toll.

While trekkers might be few and far in between, the laughs among the Sherpas never stop here. And the colorful prayer flags speaks of the hope the people here have of better days to come.
