It is a small village amidst large cultivation lands. But the colorful houses
give a certain character to the village which is not justified by the small
area of land it covers. People here follow the Sakyapa sect of Buddhism and
the colors that you see on the walls of houses belong to this sect. The five
colors that you see are green, red, white, yellow and blue all painted in
vertical stripes. There is also a Gompa here which is simply recognised as
Chhyongur gompa and is the only attraction here besides the colorful houses.
To sum it all up, Chhyongur is a picturesque village, an ideal village for
even Picasso himself.
